No Cover Born and raised in Ireland, Damian began his musical career at an early age by performing for school concerts and local traditional venues in and around Belfast. Starting on the Penny Whistle, Damian enjoyed expert instruction from various top players, notedly all Ireland whistle champion Gogi Mc Collough. Damian has been performing and recording for many years and after taking up the Bodhran Drum, his already busy gig schedule was about to get even busier with more requests to form sessions and …

Singing and playing the guitar was another ambition soon to be fulfilled and although his love for Irish music was forefront, it wasn’t long before an interest in artists such as Van Morrison and the Beatles steered him in a different direction. Today these influences are evident in his versions of famous artists songs. Damian fronted the popular Dublin band “Souled Out” in the 80?s who blended Irish roots with soul music creating a unique yet identifiable sound. Upon relocating to Canada in a few years later his solo career started almost immediately thus, ultimately leading to the formation of the ever popular Murphy?s Lagh band.
